At an event my daughter and I attended through our church, I met a mom who happened to have a daughter at Halle's school. We chatted so easily and in that 20 or so minutes learned she had an older daughter who was married and experiencing infertility. I ran into her a couple more times since last fall with the last one happening just last week. When I asked about her daughter, no news to report. Still trying things and no success. My heart sank at the time that had lapsed and the lack of movement the couple has experienced. Sharing this story today as someone who walked that walk on and off for 10 years. Each experience is a story so unique and yet one thing is the same - FAITH is a must. And that is hard when the best word to describe a short or long journey w/ infertility is hopelessness. If the desire for a child remains... then let faith do the same. Doors will close. Doors will open. And that is how...

the rain came yesterday and afterwards left a partly sunny sky with a cool breeze H and I went for a walk hoping for shaved ice but they had closed early - as we walked our last couple of blocks, just before learning of this small disappointment, ahead of us, coming our direction, was a man holding a water bottle in his right hand and a woman holding a dog leash in her left... it was a small white fluffy dog - not sure what breed... the couple looked hot and their faces more concentrated and not speaking, and in conjunction, a thought came that I hope their house is close b/c they looked ready to be there before our blocks met, they turned a corner and by the time we crossed that intersection, one glance down their direction and his and her free hands had joined and amidst the hot and no speaking, they were holding hands and my heart melted just a bit making me aware it needed to do so Psalm 27:14 is a hold hands verse - if in our freedom, we choose to have good courage, God promi...

It was close to bed time. I was in my room and H was just outside my room in the hall bath getting ready for bed. "It's hard to believe his hands held this," I heard her say. Her dad's guitar pic sits on top of the cotton balls she uses with her toner. Many have been the moments where her heart of grief exits from her mouth and it often stops me in my tracks. "I know exactly what you mean, honey," I said from my room. I went to the sweetest baptism Sunday. The pastor said our greatest treasure is to be connected to Christ.
