Judas

for greed? possibly security?

whether either, we agree

these were inner searches

proof of ways we run on empty

and for fake fuel, Judas
removed his hand from that of Jesus'

Peter? 

profession of love

protector til death, he said

but for disbelievers and doubters

he dropped the hand of his best friend
proof his heart was malaligned
and betrayed him in the end

Both men, in their error

couldn't bare their own reflection 

real difference not found

in the cause of crucifixion

but rather in the path they chose

to lead them to the fixin'

Jesus, the only way,

crucifiers touch a fire

yet find paths that lead to rescues

with every trace of smoke expired

no grave made
can erase what's been called finished
reach out to him again
grab his hand - freely given and freely given

don't be taken by the lies
they will highlight the past
when Truth didn't do that
He Rose and had nothing
repeat nothing to say
about the 3 days paid
in the grave
