trifocals and this tree
two of just a few :) things
that found entrance into my thoughts
this a.m.

this tree sits in my view
looking out my back patio doors
trifocals are something my 45 year old self
has been trying to adjust to for a few weeks now

the bottom part of the lens allows clarity up close
the middle, i'm not sure what that does for me honestly
i have to tilt my head way up to read my computer screen
which I believe is what the middle prescript should be doing
that part reminds me of the Julia Robert's line in pretty woman

"these are broken, mine are broken"

this tree then, after I finished a morning meditation, my eyes opened
to this beauty - I mean the middle of the tree and the yard maintenance as
a whole it's rough! - but I think it's the mystery of what the root system really looks like,
it's strength that's obviously held the entity through rough storms - paired with
how green and alive the top still is that sparks the beauty in the clearly battered middle.

Romans 7:21-25
I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good.  For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man.  But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.  O wretched man that I am!  Who will deliver me from the body of death?  I thank God - through Jesus Christ our Lord!

So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
